Time to Use Non-Chemical Fertilizing

  Chemical Fertilizer Bans in Florida

DID YOU KNOW that both Manatee and Sarasota county have fertilizing bans from June 1st to September 30th?  We are always surprised at how many people are not aware of this. The purpose of the ban is to avoid ‘nutrient from chemical fertilizer pollution’ through runoff during our rainy season. Excess nutrients in the water can result in blooms of algae that use up the available oxygen in the water killing fish and other aquatic organisms which contribute to things like RED TIDE.

Plant Place has been providing customers non-chemical fertilizers, totally organic fertilizer, for nearly 40 years.  Our product brand is Green Chick and it is composted chicken manure from hens that lay eggs that have been fed a high calcium diets so as to make a stronger egg shell.

Why is Green Chick so valuable as a fertilizer?   Plants need nitrogen but do not process nitrogen very well without the presence of calcium which allows the plants to absorb the nitrogen.  The key is the calcium and Green Chick has 9% calcium so a smaller amount of organic nitrogen is better absorbed.  Even if the nitrogen gets into a run-off it will not harm the fish or water, but will even improve sea grasses.  Green Chick is environmentally  friendly, safe, non-chemical, non-toxic and males all plants, palms, and grasses grow outstandingly well

Green Chick is approved for year round use because the fertilizer ban does not apply to totally organic fertilizer.  As a landscape company, we put Green Chick in every hole we dig and it makes a big difference in how quickly new plants get established.

Green Chick is an approved way to nourish your yard and plants through the summer fertilizer ban. You will enjoy great growing results year round because it is safe, non-toxic for all plants, including all your edible plants too. In addition to feeding your plants, Green Chick feeds your soil because it is completely organic with no inert fillers or chemicals that contribute to killing the worms and the beneficial microbes in the soil.

Green Chick is available exclusively at Plant Place. Stop by, pick up some and join the growing number of fans who are already hooked.  Summer is the ideal time to feed your lawn and plants.
